Who we are

The Academic Village at UC Law San Francisco comprises world-class teaching, learning, and living facilities, which bring together students and professionals from across the Bay Area to work and live in a collaborative and multi-disciplinary higher education community.

The Academe at 198 is the newest addition to the Academic Village, featuring state-of-the-art, competitively priced housing for students, trainees, scholars, and professionals in law, business, technology, medicine, and beyond.  All residents of our Bay Area apartments have full access to the Academic Village, including meeting/study rooms, classrooms, the library, recreation facilities, lounges, a café, and retail.

Other buildings residents can access

  • A LEED Platinum six-story academic building that opened in 2020, which includes a rooftop deck with dramatic views of the city, a conference center, a quad, and a bridge that connects to Mary Kay Kane Hall.
  • A renovated administrative building with classrooms, library, study and meeting rooms, offices, a dining café, and event spaces.
  • A 400-space parking garage with ground floor retail including an Asian fusion vegan restaurant, Golden Era, and Philz Coffee.

Following the completion of the Academe at 198, UC Law, SF will move on to additional phases of the Academic Village including:

  • Following the opening of the Academe at 198, UC Law, SF will complete a renovation of the existing housing at the 28-story landmark building, resulting in approximately 260 fully-refreshed residential units for students and personnel as well as offices, retail, event, and recreational spaces.
  • This multipurpose development with housing, academic, programmatic, and office spaces, will be designed in partnership with union UNITE HERE/Local 2.
